Credibility
Operate with the language, structure, and expectations of interscholastic athletics.
About the League
NJHSPL is being developed to give schools a credible, organized way to participate in interscholastic pickleball competition.
History
Pickleball is growing quickly across New Jersey communities, but high school athletes need more than informal play. The League is designed to create a school-centered framework that athletic departments can understand, evaluate, and join.
The first phase focuses on establishing founding schools, creating a clear pilot format, and documenting expectations for match days, eligibility, equipment, and student leadership.
The long-term vision is a statewide interscholastic Association that supports regular competition, championship events, and a path toward formal recognition.
Core Values
Every decision should help schools see the League as a serious athletic initiative with room to grow.
Operate with the language, structure, and expectations of interscholastic athletics.
Make school participation realistic for athletic departments, advisors, and students.
Place respect, fair competition, and school representation at the center of the League.

Leadership
Leadership roles will become more formal as member schools, advisors, and athletic partners join the Association.
Responsible for school outreach, founding member coordination, and the initial League roadmap.
Future advisors will help align participation with school policies, supervision, and athletic department standards.
The League will seek experienced athletic voices to support governance, rules, and match operations.
